This will certainly be a year of beginnings.
I'm single now, and will be beginning my life as such, eventually. Right now, I'm still in the figuring-myself-out-again phase of this. Life will start again soon, though, I'm sure.
I've started a new job. Technically, my first day was Monday, December 29, 2008, but that was training, basically, so as far as I am concerned, new year, new job. I think I'm going to like it...the office is a satellite location for a counseling clinic that works with kids, but there isn't a lot of traffic there yet, so I'm pretty much there alone. I'll get a lot of reading done, probably, which is perfectly fine with me, and I'll get paid for it :-D I'll also do whatever the various therapists need me to do (make copies, fax paperwork, make appointments, etc. and hopefully, make some friends among my fellow employees when they're actually in the office :-)
I think I have a new dog, be that good or bad. Lady needs a home still...she's just too big to be an indoor dog, and I don't have the money for a fence, and she can jump over my parents' fence, even when it's not torn down (like it is now.) If y'all know anybody that would like a medium-sized dog, black lab/chow mix, who is very, very sweet, but needs room to run outside (INSIDE A FENCE) let me know. I love Lady, but she needs a better home than I can give her right now. Anyway...my brother agreed to dogsit a homeless, rescued dog for a while, but didn't have any luck finding a home for her, and she's so sweet and little enough that she'd be a good dog for me. She's been sleeping in my bed for a couple of weeks now...haha. The people that found her named her Domino, but I didn't think that was right. Domino, to me, is a good name for a male Dalmation...but she's mostly black with bits of tan (she has eyebrows!) and a white stomach. I settled on Sophie, and she answers to it, so that's stuck. She's Jack Russell Terrier and Dachshund, I think.
I fully intend to lose weight this year. I've gotten way too heavy, and I know I'm not healthy anymore. I want to take pounds off and develop a regular exercise routine. I want to start walking every day again like I'd planned before. I did really well for about a week, and then my life fell apart, and my plans for a healthier me did too. I want to take that back up again, and I'm going to save my money as best I can for a WiiFit. I've heard they are really great, and it'd be a lot cheaper than a gym membership would be, especially considering I'd never use the gym. It's something I could do in the privacy of my own home, at whatever hour I wanted to (no 6am workouts for me, thank you!)
So...it's a new year! I hope that at this time NEXT year, I'll be in a better place in life and have some satisfaction at having accomplished something good.
